Vassa is a Great Northern Blue Dragon. Despite his name, the Northern Blue's scales range from bright green to midnight blue. Wings unfurled, Vassa stands among the remains of a castle - and an unfortunate knight.
Vassa and his wings are hand sculpted entirely of polymer clays over wire & foil armatures. The scales have been attached individually to facilitate a gradual color change. He has blue rhinestone eyes. His horns and talons were made from Super Flex to prevent breakage. The 2"x2" square base is covered on top with more polymer clay, and on the bottom with felt to protect shelving & furniture. Including his stand, Vassa stands approximately 7" high and has a wing span of roughly 6 1/2".
